Welcome to Frank Roberts Junior High's Podcast Kingdom!  This web site features class podcast projects with podcast resources for students, teachers and our school community.

  • Tutorials : In this section you will find links to tutorials on using Audacity and creating a podcast.
  • Resources:  In this section you will find links to web resources to help you create your podcast.  This includes links to other podcasts, music you can use in your podcasts, tools for helping you create your podcasts, and other useful resources.
  • Tech 7: This section is for the students in the technology course in grade 7.

About the Podcast Project:

This project is part of the Communications Technology course in grade 7 at our school. 

Students learn how to use Audacity to create, edit, and record podcasts. More information about this project is available on the Tech 7 section of this web site, but here are the main steps the students followed:

  • Brain storm for ideas and content for podcasts (For some of the French Immersion classes, this was a cross-curricular project that required their podcast to be spoken in French);
  • Write a script;
  • Find free music to use in their podcast (fade in and out effects using Audacity);
  • Include Introduction (with music fading out), main content, and closing giving credit for music used in podcast (fade in effect).

I went through all the podcasts and posted a sample of some of the best. Below are some of these podcasts created by our grade 7 students:
